WHO SHOULD TAKE THIS COURSE
EEHA Refresher for Hazardous Area is prepared for licenced Australian electricians who are required to attend a refresher program for electrical equipment in hazardous areas (EEHA) to refresh their skills and knowledge to match current industry standards on competencies that they have already gained.
The EEHA refresher program is intended to bring current Australian licenced electricians who have been previously trained in hazardous areas up to date on any changes to hazardous area standards and legislation.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
In order to enrol in this EEHA Refresher course you must have:
- EEHA/ Certificate IV in Hazardous Areas – Electrical nationally recognised certificate with attainment in the following units:
- UEEHA0020/UEEHA0001 Conduct detailed inspection of electrical installations for hazardous areas
- UEEHA0038/UEEHA0002 Conduct visual and close inspection of electrical installations for hazardous areas
- UEEHA0022/UEEHA0003 Determine the explosion-protection requirements to meet a specified classified hazardous area
- UEEHA0004 Enter a classified hazardous area to undertake work related to electrical equipment
- UEEHA0025/UEEHA0005 Install explosion-protected equipment and associated apparatus and wiring systems
- UEEHA0026/UEEHA0006 Maintain equipment associated with hazardous areas
- UEEHA0029/UEEHA0007 Plan electrical installations for hazardous areas
- Must be able to provide the following completed documents:
- 1 completed SWMS or JSEA relevant to your work.
- 4 completed HAC sheets, including one for each ( Ex i, Ex e, Ex d, Ex n/tD)
- An experience letter from your current or previous employer.
- Note: Blank templates will not be accepted. All documents must be fully completed, signed where applicable, and submitted as examples of work previously undertaken.
- A valid Unrestricted Australian Electrical Licence
- A valid ID (eg. Drivers Licence)
- Basic Computer Literacy
Access to resources is through online links only. Some of the books cannot be downloaded. A hard copy is available on request on the condition that the student pays for postage (registered optional) and administration. This course is not available to students without a good internet connection.

You will also need to have an email address and a reliable internet connection in order to use our online LMS platform if you are doing some parts of the course online.
Enclosed footwear must be worn at all times when you are on the premises.
HOW OFTEN DO YOU NEED TO DO YOUR EEHA REFRESHER
How often do I need to do my EEHA Hazardous Area Refresher course?
Most Oil and Gas employers require employees to undergo this refresher every 3 years, while some organisations require it every 5 years. This could be formal training or on-the-job training.
According to the Australian Standards, “Appropriate continuing education or training shall be undertaken by personnel on a regular basis”.

CREDIT TRANSFER
Ausinet, as a Registered Training Organisation (RTO), recognises the Australian Qualifications Framework qualifications and Statements of Attainment issued by any other Australian RTO. You are encouraged to submit requests for credit from previous studies when enrolling to ensure that you are not enrolling in units you may not need to undertake. If you have completed units at other RTO and you think they may count towards the award requirements of the course you are enrolled in at Ausinet, submit an official copy of your results for the units you have undertaken. Credit transfer may fast-track your course.
RPL
Recognition of prior learning also referred to as RPL, is the formal acknowledgement of a person’s current skills and knowledge experience gained throughout life – regardless of how they have been acquired.
This is an important assessment pathway, particularly for people who are considering doing a study. The recognition gained may considerably reduce the study time needed to get a qualification.
The RPL assessment may include workplace observation, interviews and professional conversations, work samples and documented evidence. Please contact the office for an RPL kit.

I recently completed the Battery Design and Installation course. The theory component was completed online, followed by the practical training at their office in Darra. I found the course well structured and informative. The online theory allowed me to work through the material at my own pace, while the practical component was particularly valuable as it provided hands-on experience and helped reinforce what had been covered in the theory. The trainers were knowledgeable, approachable and happy to answer questions. Being able to work with the equipment during the practical training made it much easier to understand the design, installation and commissioning requirements for battery systems. Overall, I found the course very worthwhile and would recommend it to anyone looking to improve their knowledge and practical skills in battery design and installation.
Just completed my national GAP Training with Ausinet and highly recommend anyone needing to do so to book in a call with them. From the beginning the course is explained in detail and professionally by the team with all cost outlined from the get go with staged payments to make things easier. The online training is very informative and easy to follow and assessed on Fridays or Sundays with online exams. The Exemplar profiling, although daunting is made easy to follow by Ausinet and the admin team are at hand to assist if needed. Can I get RPL for EEHA Refresher if I have been working in the field for a long time?
It is easier to do the refresher course. We understand that you are experienced and competent but doing RPL requires you to submit lots of evidence. The trainer then goes through the evidence and will ask you about any shortcomings. This process could take a month and the cost of RPL is more than the cost of the refresher course. The refresher can be done online.
