Keystone Tasmania Funding
Keystone Tasmania funds courses for applicants who qualify under the Building and Construction Industry Training Fund Act of 1990.
KEYSTONE TASMANIA FUNDED COURSES
The following courses offered by AUSINET are eligible for funding with Keystone Tasmania:
PROPORTION OF FUNDING
Keystone Tasmania will fund 60%* of the listed course fee for the above-mentioned Solar course and Battery course for applicants who fit the eligibility criteria.

KEYSTONE TASMANIA FUNDING ELIGIBILITY
To be eligible for funding, you are required to register an account with Keystone Tasmania however this is subject to meeting condition eligibility criteria.

You must enrol in the course ‘prior to’ making an application for Keystone funding.
Keystone will accept claims for up to 60 days from the completion date of the approved activity.
ADDITIONAL NOTES
Keystone does not sponsor assessment-only initiatives such as RPL or VOC. Keystone makes payments directly to eligible businesses following the successful completion of approved activities. Proof of successful completion is required.
About Keystone Training Rebate
The Building and Construction Industry Training Fund Act of 1990 established Keystone Tasmania, the Tasmanian Building and Construction Industry Training Board’s trading name. Keystone sponsors specific types of training for qualifying Tasmanian building and construction enterprises.

IS MY BUSINESS ELIGIBLE FOR KEYSTONE REBATE?
If a business meets all the following conditions, it is eligible to apply for Keystone Tasmania funding:
- The business’s main activity is on-site building and construction work operations.
- The business should hold a current ABN
- The business arranges and pays for employee training (including sole trader and partnership owners).
WHAT COURSES ARE FUNDED BY KEYSTONE?
Ranging from short courses to Advanced Diploma credentials, Keystone supports accredited and non-accredited courses. For a list of currently approved courses and training providers, go to www.keystone.com.au/training/rebate.
HOW MUCH IS THE REBATE?
For the fiscal year 2024-25, the Keystone training rebate varies from 30% to 50% of the total out-of-pocket training fee per participant who successfully completes the course. Individuals residing outside Tasmania are not eligible for rebates.
HOW DO I APPLY FOR THE REBATE?
If you are new to Keystone, begin by registering for a Keystone account online at www.keystone.com.au to determine your business’s eligibility. Once your registration is approved, you can submit an online application through your Keystone account. You will need to enter your employee information and upload an invoice from the training provider, as well as a certificate of course completion. Remember to submit the application at least three full working days before the course begins. For example, if training begins next Monday, submit your application by the end of the day on the preceding Tuesday.
WHAT IS DEFINED AS BUILDING AND CONSTRUCTION WORK?
Schedule 2 of the Building and Construction Industry Training Fund Act 1990 defines “building and construction work” as comprising the following activities:
- Bricklaying & stone masonry
- Carpentry & joinery
- Civil construction
- Electrical
- Flooring
- Glazing
- Heating & air-conditioning
- Heavy vehicle & machine operation
- New building & renovation
- Painting & plastering
- Plumbing & gas fitting
- Roofing
- Tiling
- Welding.
