ABOUT THE COURSE

WHO SHOULD TAKE THIS COURSE

The Plug Top replacement course is for people who have successfully completed their Test and Tag Course. This plug top course will provide you with the required knowledge to replace plugs on electrical equipment.

COURSE OVERVIEW

After completing our Plug Top Replacement course you will be able to remove damaged plugs and wire new ones on for personal use only. You will also learn about different types of plugs, relevant regulations and specifications. In NT plug top can only be replaced professionally by someone who holds an NT Restricted Electrical Licence. This course will only provide you with more knowledge but will not allow you to change the plug top unless you get a restricted Electrical Licence.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

To enrol in this course you must have completed the single-phase test and tag course and the three-phase test and tag course with us.

  • Computer Literacy
  • Access to personal laptop/desktop with a webcam (Company laptops with firewalls may not work)
  • Reliable internet connection
  • Headset for video conferencing and video lectures (Headset = Mic + Speakers)
  • You will need a Gmail account to gain access to Google Drive to participate in this course
  • A Valid Photo ID (e.g. Drivers licence)
  • Australian Passport /Birth Certificate / Medicare Card
  • Protective footwear with safety toe cap and non-slip soles to AS2210
  • 100% cotton drill industry-standard clothing required for all practicals
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as used gloves and safety glasses can be borrowed
  • Students must demonstrate an appropriate level of language, literacy and numeracy skills and knowledge to undertake a course at this level.
  • One must be physically fit to enrol into this course as it involves the use of tools, ladders, step ladders, use of harness and maneuvering through tight spaces and working outdoors.
COURSE REQUIREMENTS

Please bring a pen, headphones and a notebook.

Personal protective equipment is required:

Enclosed footwear, long cotton trousers and a long-sleeved cotton shirt are required to be worn at all times when undertaking practical training.

Students failing to meet these minimum dress standards will not be permitted entry to practical classes.

BOOKS/RESOURCES REQUIRED

A soft copy of the learner resource book or lecture notes is free, and we will provide it as a Google Drive link only and not as a PDF.
If you require a hard copy, a printing charge of $150 for each copy and a $100 binding charge per copy will be collected from the student.
Australian standards cannot be printed due to copyright restrictions but are available for borrowing for the duration of the course with a refundable deposit of $250 per copy. Soft copies are free to use on Ausinet laptops while in class.

Can I Do My Theory The Same As Practicals?

Yes you can but it would be a very long day, we would recommend to allow an extra day if you cannot finish in 1 day
